Mission of the Midway Community Choir
To provide a unique opportunity for residents of the Midway area of Chicago to participate, as choir members or audience attendees, in the community-building
activity of choral singing while simultaneously raising funds for area charitable organizations.
Who We Are
 The choir is made up of two dozen singers who live or work in the Midway area.
The choir sings many different kinds of fun music: from pop to Broadway to folk.
Anyone can sing with us! We have all different levels of experience, from trained singers to novices who can't read music.
The choir is directed by Manju Durairaj. Rehearsals and performances are at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. ten months of the year.
Concerts are free to the public; however, donations are accepted at each concert and given to a designated charity. To date the MCC has raised over $21,000 for local charities in just 5 years.

Formed a partnership with John F. Kennedy High School, where students earn service hours by singing with the choir

Formalized the choir's leadership structure and fund raising
Provided audio rehearsal tapes to choir members to make learning the music easier
